Mud holes and Bridges

Once there was a soul who was finding his way home through the rough terrain.  He came upon a very large mud hole, seeing others were trudging along having had done the same.

Finding others were stuck in the mud, he tried to help them free.  But to his dismay, instead the others intended to stay there, having no intention to leave.

As time went on, and all problems he could not solve, a prayer went up to the divine, with wishes and intentions for the highest and best for all, was what he had in mind.

Hoping and wishing his request would come true, he sat waiting trying to figure out what next to do.

Finally, he saw a bridge appear just down the way, if they could just all get out of this mud hole, they’d all be happily on their way.

The soul climbed out, cleaned up and made it to the bridge, trying to figure out why the others jeered.  They snarled and yelled, “Hey you up there!  As mud balls flew through the air, you’re not leaving us now, you will stay here!”

Without thinking, he jumped back into the mud hole, sinking ever further than before, he knew it was a mistake as everyone seemed somewhat more content than before.

The prayer went up again, and this time an answer was heard.  “When others are attached to their problems, ignore them still reaching for conclusion and resolution of yours.”

He once again crawled out, cleaned himself up and made way for the bridge, ignoring the thrown mud balls, even though they smarted, just a smidge.

Do you know the moral of this story, is it not clear?  Can’t rescue others when they’re completely attached to their own fear.  You must head out along your way alone, sometimes, stepping into the unknown.  For it is in that bold action, you will succeed in finally reaching your home.
