Arsinoe II was a Ptolemaic Greek Princess of Ancient Egypt born 316 BC. She was the first daughter of Pharaoh Ptolemy I Soter. At 15, she was given in marriage to King Lysimachus (who was 60). She had 3 sons, who eventually were killed due to political maneuvering. She eventually fled to Alexandria, where her brother, Ptolemy II Philadelphus protected, and married her. They shared a joint, co-rulership. She shared in all ruler titles and roles, as well as won several chariot races in the Olympic Games, near 272 BC. She was 44 years old. Of all the reknown ancient women I've studied, Arsinoe II captured my interest and my heart ... thus, the pen name and alias.
