Arsinoe II was a Ptolemaic Greek Princess of Ancient Egypt born 316 BC. She was the first daughter of Pharaoh Ptolemy I Soter. At 15, she was given in marriage to King Lysimachus (who was 60). She had 3 sons, who eventually were killed due to political maneuvering.
She eventually fled to Alexandria, where her brother, Ptolemy II Philadelphus protected, and married her. They shared a joint, co-rulership. She shared in all ruler titles and roles, as well as won several chariot races in the Olympic Games, near 272 BC. She was 44 years old.
